By the EradiTatt team · Laser tattoo removal specialists in Tampa Bay and Orlando since 2015
Short answer: if you live in Clearwater, FL, the closest EradiTatt clinic is our Palm Harbor tattoo removal office at 3343 Tampa Road, about 15 minutes from Countryside and about 25 minutes from downtown Clearwater. Laser tattoo removal there costs $100 to $600 per session depending on the size of the tattoo, with 20% off when you buy a package of four. Most tattoos need 8 to 12 sessions spaced 6 to 8 weeks apart. Each appointment takes only 5 to 15 minutes, and your first consultation is free.
Key takeaways
- Clearwater residents are usually closest to our Palm Harbor clinic on Tampa Road near US-19. Our Tampa (Westshore) and St. Petersburg clinics are about 25 to 30 minutes away too.
- Pricing is based on tattoo size: from $100 per session for a tattoo smaller than a quarter up to $600 for one about the size of a sheet of paper.
- A package of 4 sessions saves 20%. Active-duty military and veterans get 15% off.
- Most clients need 8 to 12 sessions, 6 to 8 weeks apart, so plan on roughly a year or more for full removal.
- Clearwater Beach life matters: treated skin has to stay out of the sun and out of the water while it heals, and you should avoid tanning for 4+ weeks before each session.
- Tattoo removal is all we do. Every treatment uses the PiQo4 laser with Zimmer Cryo 6 cooling.
Clearwater has no shortage of med spas, and a lot of them list “tattoo removal” somewhere on a long menu of services. Most of those pages are a few hundred words long. They give a starting price and a phone number, and leave out the things you actually need to plan: what your specific tattoo will cost from start to finish, how many visits it takes, and how to fit treatment around beach days, boat weekends and Florida sun. This guide covers all of that for Clearwater, FL residents, from Clearwater Beach and Island Estates to Countryside, Morningside and the Gulf to Bay corridor.
Where Clearwater residents go for laser tattoo removal
EradiTatt doesn’t have an office inside Clearwater city limits. Our nearest clinic is in Palm Harbor, just up the road in north Pinellas, and it lists Clearwater as one of its main service areas alongside Dunedin, Safety Harbor, Oldsmar, Tarpon Springs, East Lake and Holiday. For most of Clearwater, it’s an easy drive north on US-19 or Alt 19.

|---|---|---|---|

Other clinics that work well for Clearwater commuters
If you work across the bay, our Tampa tattoo removal clinic at 1715 N Westshore Blvd, Suite 100 (inside Infinity Medical Institute, near International Plaza and Tampa International Airport) is right on the other side of the Courtney Campbell Causeway. That’s handy if you commute to Westshore or downtown Tampa. If you’re in south Clearwater or work in mid-Pinellas, our St. Petersburg tattoo removal clinic at 9210 4th Street N, Suite A, is another option. Your price and treatment plan are the same at every location, and you can book whichever clinic fits each appointment.
How much does tattoo removal cost in Clearwater, FL?
At EradiTatt, price is based on one thing: the size of your tattoo. Color, age and location affect how many sessions you need, but not the price of each session. Here’s the full price list we use at the Palm Harbor clinic and every other location. The size comparisons come from our laser tattoo removal cost page.
| Tattoo size | Roughly… | Per session | Package of 4 (20% off) | Cost per session in a package |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| XX-Small | Smaller than a quarter | $100 | $320 | $80 |
| X-Small | Smaller than a credit card | $175 | $560 | $140 |
| Small | Smaller than a dollar bill | $225 | $720 | $180 |
| Medium | Smaller than a CD | $300 | $960 | $240 |
| Large | Smaller than a DVD case | $400 | $1,280 | $320 |
| X-Large | Smaller than a piece of paper | $600 | $1,920 | $480 |
What your full removal might cost
Because most tattoos take 8 to 12 sessions, the per-session price only tells part of the story. This table shows the full range using packages of four (two packages for 8 sessions, three for 12) next to paying one session at a time:
| Tattoo size | 8 sessions with packages | 12 sessions with packages | 8–12 sessions paying as you go |
|---|---|---|---|
| XX-Small | $640 | $960 | $800–$1,200 |
| X-Small | $1,120 | $1,680 | $1,400–$2,100 |
| Small | $1,440 | $2,160 | $1,800–$2,700 |
| Medium | $1,920 | $2,880 | $2,400–$3,600 |
| Large | $2,560 | $3,840 | $3,200–$4,800 |
| X-Large | $3,840 | $5,760 | $4,800–$7,200 |
A few real-world examples help put that in context. A small name or date on the wrist usually falls in the XX-Small or X-Small tier. A palm-sized piece on the shoulder blade or calf is typically Small or Medium. A large back or thigh piece can be Large or X-Large. If you’re fading a tattoo for a cover-up rather than removing it completely, you’ll usually need fewer sessions, which brings the total down. Our guide to fading a tattoo before a cover-up explains how that works.
Ways to lower the cost
- Buy a package of 4. It takes 20% off every session in the package.
- Military and veteran discount. Active-duty military and veterans get 15% off. That’s worth knowing if you’re stationed at MacDill or retired in Pinellas County. Ask us how it combines with packages. Our post on tattoo removal for military members covers the details.
- Referral credit. Refer a friend and you get a $50 credit.
- Get an exact quote first. Send a photo of your tattoo and we’ll tell you its size tier and price before you book.
Wondering why removal costs more than the tattoo did? We break that down in why tattoo removal is so expensive. If price is your main concern, our guide to affordable laser tattoo removal explains how to compare quotes fairly. A low “starting at” price that only covers the smallest size doesn’t tell you what your tattoo will cost.
How many sessions will you need?
Most EradiTatt clients need between 8 and 12 sessions for full removal, spaced 6 to 8 weeks apart. That spacing isn’t arbitrary. Each laser pulse breaks the ink into tiny fragments, and your immune system needs several weeks to carry them away. Coming back too early doesn’t speed things up. It just treats skin that hasn’t finished healing. Our article on why tattoo removal takes multiple sessions explains the biology in more detail.
The main things that change your session count:
- Ink colors. Black and dark blue usually respond best. Some colors, like green and light blue, need specific wavelengths and often more sessions. The PiQo4 has four wavelengths to target different colors. See our guide to removing colored tattoos.
- Ink density and who did it. Dense professional work usually takes longer than a light amateur tattoo.
- Age of the tattoo. Older tattoos have already faded somewhat and often clear faster.
- Location on the body. Areas with good circulation (closer to the heart) tend to clear faster than ankles, feet and fingers.
- Your health and habits. Smoking, poor sleep and sun exposure can slow your immune system’s ink clearance.

What happens at your appointment
If you’ve never had laser tattoo removal, here’s what a visit to our Palm Harbor clinic looks like. Our page on the laser tattoo removal process goes step by step with photos.
1. Free consultation
We look at your tattoo’s size, colors, age and placement, along with your skin type and health history. You’ll get your size tier, a realistic session range and a price before you commit. You can do this in person or start with a phone consultation or photo quote.
2. Treatment
Melissa uses the PiQo4 laser, which combines picosecond and nanosecond pulses across four wavelengths. While she treats, the Zimmer Cryo 6 blows very cold air over your skin to keep you comfortable. Most people describe the feeling as a rubber band snapping against the skin. The actual laser time is short: appointments usually take 5 to 15 minutes, which makes it easy to fit a visit into a lunch break or before work. If you’re nervous about pain, read ways to manage pain during laser tattoo removal.
3. Right after
The treated skin often turns white for a few minutes. This is called frosting, and it’s normal. After that you may see redness, swelling and sometimes blisters or a scab over the next few days. We’ll bandage the area before you leave. For a closer look at the first visit, see what happens after your first laser tattoo removal session.
Clearwater lifestyle: sun, water and tattoo removal
This is the part most tattoo removal pages skip, and it matters a lot in Clearwater. Laser treatment works best on untanned skin, and treated skin has to be protected while it heals. That takes some planning when your weekends involve Clearwater Beach, Sand Key, Pier 60, a boat on the Intracoastal or a ferry to Caladesi Island.
Before each session: no tan
We ask clients to avoid sun exposure and tanning for at least 4 weeks before treatment. A tan adds melanin, the skin’s own pigment, which competes with the ink for the laser’s energy. That raises the risk of light spots (hypopigmentation) or dark spots (hyperpigmentation). We can’t treat skin with a recent tan. In practice, that means keeping the tattooed area covered with clothing or SPF 50+ every time you’re outside, not just on beach days.
After each session: stay dry and covered
- Keep the treated area covered for 2 to 3 days.
- Skip exercise for 24 hours, so a morning run on the Pinellas Trail or Memorial Causeway waits until the next day.
- Stay out of the Gulf, pools and hot tubs until any blisters or scabs have fully healed. Open skin and salt water, chlorine or bacteria don’t mix.
- Once healed, protect the area with SPF 50+ or clothing before every outdoor day.
Our aftercare guides cover this in detail: how to care for tattoo removal and what not to do after tattoo removal.
The best time of year to start
Fall and winter are the easiest seasons to start. UV is lower, beach days are fewer, and long sleeves are actually comfortable. Starting in October or November means several sessions are behind you before spring break crowds and summer boating season return. We explain the timing in our guide to the best time of year to get a tattoo removed in Tampa, and it applies just as well to Clearwater. That said, you can start any month if you’re careful about sun.
Work, uniforms and dress codes
Clearwater’s biggest employers include hospitals and health systems, tech and corporate offices, hotels and resorts on the beach, and public service jobs, from first responders to schools. Many of these have dress codes or uniform rules about visible tattoos. If you need a hand, neck or forearm tattoo gone for a job, a promotion or a military enlistment, tell us your deadline at the consultation. We’ll map backward from that date using 6 to 8 weeks per session. In the meantime, fading alone often makes a tattoo easy to cover with makeup.
Laser vs. other tattoo removal methods you’ll see in Clearwater
Search for tattoo removal around Clearwater and you’ll find several approaches: Q-switched nanosecond lasers, picosecond lasers, and non-laser methods that use a solution to draw ink out through the skin. Here’s how they generally compare:
| Method | How it works | Things to know |
|---|---|---|
| Q-switched (nanosecond) laser | Pulses measured in billionths of a second shatter ink into fragments | Long-proven, especially for black ink. Often fewer wavelengths available. See Q-switch laser uses. |
| Picosecond laser | Much shorter pulses (trillionths of a second) break ink into finer particles | Generally efficient on stubborn and lighter ink. |
| PiQo4 (what EradiTatt uses) | Combines pico and nano pulses with 4 wavelengths | Lets the provider match pulse type and wavelength to each color. Read our PiQo4 guide. |
| Non-laser / saline-style methods | Ink is drawn out through the skin with a solution | Works through the surface of the skin, so healing and scarring risk are different. See what can go wrong with tattoo removal. |
| Removal creams | Topical products | Can’t reach ink in the dermis. See do tattoo removal creams work? |

How to choose a tattoo removal provider near Clearwater
Whether you pick us or someone else, these are the questions worth asking any Clearwater-area clinic:
- Is tattoo removal their specialty, or one service among dozens? At EradiTatt, tattoo removal is all we do, and we’ve been doing it since 2015.
- Who performs the treatment? At our clinics, owner Melissa Hoperich, FNP, performs the treatments.
- Which laser, and how many wavelengths? Multi-color tattoos need more than one wavelength.
- Is the price list published by size? You should be able to see what your tattoo costs, not just a “from” price.
- Can they show real before and after photos? Browse our tattoo removal results and reviews.
- Will they tell you when you’re not a candidate? A responsible provider screens for health conditions and medications (more on that below).
Our article on tattoo removal qualifications goes deeper on credentials, and how to read tattoo removal reviews helps you separate real feedback from noise.
Who should wait or skip laser treatment
Laser tattoo removal isn’t right for everyone at every moment. We can’t treat you if any of these apply:
- You’re pregnant (see tattoo removal while pregnant)
- You’ve taken Accutane (isotretinoin) in the last 6 months
- You take anticoagulants (blood thinners)
- You have an autoimmune condition
- You have a recent tan
- You have a strong allergy to the tattoo ink
If you’re not sure, bring it up during your free consultation and we’ll talk it through.
Results: what Clearwater clients can expect
Most tattoos fade a little more after each session, with the biggest visible changes often coming in the first several treatments. Full removal of black ink is very achievable for most people. Some colors may leave a faint ghost that takes extra sessions. Setting realistic expectations up front is part of our consultation. You can see real progress photos from our clinics on our results page, and read about tattoo removal success rates and whether laser tattoo removal leaves scars. If you’re in the Palm Harbor area too, our post on tattoo removal results in Palm Harbor has more local examples.
